We've been working so hard on the academics of photography, I thought I'd give us a break this week and talk about one of my passions - Patterns. Patterns are everywhere and I find them great fun to find and more fun to capture within a frame.

Volcanic Lava Flow taken from a Helicopter - Big Island of Hawaii
Nikon D60: 1/500 second at f/4.0 ISO 360 at 55mm
Sand & Water Textures - Bridgehampton, NY
Nikon D60: 1/1250 second at f/5.0 ISO 100 at 55mm
Colorful Architectural Textures - New York City
Nikon D60: 1/250 second at f/10 ISO 200 at 105mm
Reflective Architectural Pattern - Dark Caverns of Lower Manhattan
Nikon D60: 1/40 second at f 5.6 ISO 400 at 180mm
See ... patterns are everywhere, go capture a pattern or two and share them with us in the Light, Lines & Color Community on Google+. If you're not a member yet, simply ask and I'll add you, so we can all see your patterns too.
Remember to Keyword your images like this with the word Pattern and before you know it you'll have a collection of patterns for your entertainment.
I love photo patterns! One of my favorite things. Your sand photo (above) looks like chocolate frosting! (Oops! I must be hungry!) Pattern photos also make great computer wallpaper.
