Very easy to understand. I do wish that the f.stop numbers coincided with the size of the opening. Guess it's too late for the photography world to change things now, but shouldn't a large opening coincide with a large number? *sigh* :-)


Beth, I remember having the same frustration with smaller f numbers correlating to larger openings but some things in life we must simply accept. Here's something that might help ... smaller numbers mean shallower depth of field AND larger numbers mean greater depth of field. Hope that helps.
