The Gladiator Alliums planted in front of the Sag Harbor Historical Society fascinate me in their various stages of growth and development.
These perennials begin with planting their large bulbs in the fall.
They bloom in the late Spring and early Summer and can be 3-4 feet tall and have blossoms that are 6-inches in diameter.
Easy to maintain, Gladiator Alliums thrive in direct sunlight and good drainage, and will appear year after year.
These purple beauties are also known as ornamental onions!
I hope you enjoyed these images of the stages of a giant/gladiator allium's life.
They are beautiful, thank you for posting these beauties.
