It was very interesting living down south for 3 1/2 years although the job was not great-working around grain elevators-I was happy to transfer to another agency and end up eventually at jfk. I lived in one town in Louisiana that really had only one stop light-my apartment was only about two blocks from the mighty Mississippi!
Your trip sounds great!
i spent a lot of time around the mighty misssippi. i did my grad. school research on a large island across the river (near warsaw, il)from keokuk, iowa, and then i did a presentation of the research at a meeting in winona, mn. then i worked for usda-fgis along the missisppi in louisiana for 3 1/2 years.
