These photos of the planes at the Jones Beach air show are for my faithful, yet bored, male friends who out of allegiance, friendship or brow-beating follow this blog despite servings of Tomato Tarte Tatin, Shelter Island Fireworks and/or Avocado Sorbet. I sincerely hope you get a kick out of this slide show and enjoy the photos.
The air show at Jones Beach this year was fabulous and Peter and I took over 1000 pictures that day. We posted photos of the Blue Angels in June with a promise that more would be forthcoming. Well here's a slide show of those other "Magnificent Men (and Women) in their Flying Machines". I have to tell you that processing these photos was the only way I maintained my sanity during my month of Grand Jury duty. I've had a lot of fun putting this together and hope it puts as big a smile on your face as it does on mine.

Thought it was awesome - never saw a helicopter fly upside down like that before. The mental and physical fortitude it must take to maintain control of those panels has to be extreme.
One sentence, two words: way cool.

I do understand how you must have been brow-beaten (who came up that term I wonder?) into giving the guys a go at something that might interest them as well. So glad this helped you get through the tedious boring task of jurying. Great show!
