Carl, I'm so glad you came to visit and could enjoy the tart as well as the popovers. Loved the time together as always.

When I arrived at Bridgehampton on Saturday, I could smell something had been cooking in the oven. My thoughts were on the Leek Tart, that is what I was really hoping for. It looked just like the photo and was just so delicious. She served it with a crisp salad and a glass of chardonnay. And like Claudia says, it never fails to make me smile and feel as if I'm in France. Claudia was kind enough to send the leftovers home with me for my mom. My mom is a fussy eater and adored the leek tart. When I told my friend Mary, who visits the blog, that I had the Leek Tart her first question was "Did it look that the picture?" Of course it did and I had to share a piece with her, who loves food more than anything. Can’t wait for her to post her Comment on the Leek Tart.

Can't read your blog before I eat - somehow that Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich doesn't cut it when looking at any of the results from your kitchen.

I have made this recipe and it is delicious!!! Claudia is correct - making the crust does make a difference and it is easy.

Looks yummy. I make something similar but using poached salmon instead of the ham. Sometimes I throw in some fennel to cook down with the leeks if I am short on leeks. Or, throwing some frozen peas in at the last minute also works well with the salmon/leeks/Gruyere combo.

Cannot wait to try out this recipe! I must agree regarding the cheese, it would most certainly produce a very different flavor. Baby Swiss will be my preference when I have a go at it. Thanks for another wonderful way to start our day Claudia!
