Tammy, Thanks so much for joining in. I truly like the quote from Napoleon Hill and believe I agree with you and Deb, there was sincerity in what he said. Hope to hear from you again.

Tammy

I,too, think he was sincere. In 'Think and Grow Rich' Napoleon Hill said this: "One of the most common causes of failure is the habit of quitting when one is overtaken by temporary defeat." Overcoming this habit by remaining enthusiastic is necessary for success.

Ah--this takes an understanding of British wit to decipher. Sad to say, I've not yet acquired a true understanding; but I'm guessing that Churchill was very sincere and had a twinkle in his eye at the same time. Debra, UK

I think it was meant in the same spirit as "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again."

Sally

I would like to think sincere. It is through failure with no loss of enthusiasm that gives people the knowledge and wisdom to guide others. One of my favorite sayings is "Through adversity comes strength"
