The Babysitter painted by Barbara Andolsek
Anyone who has followed Open Window for some time knows that a wonderful California painter named Barbara Andolsek befriended me several years ago and has been painting many of my photographs. In fact, at last count, I think she's painted 10. I always love seeing the images she chooses to paint and how she conveys the light, lines and color with her paints. Well she's done another one called "The Babysitter". A family with three boys, all under the age of 11, were at the beach one evening after the life guards had gone home and they were playing on the life guard chair along with their "babysitter", a teenage girl who was obviously keeping an eye on them and playing right along - thus the name for the painting.
As always, I am complimented by Barbara's continued interest in my pictures and in this case, as in most, I find Barbara's painting more compelling than the original photograph. Bravo Barbara and thanks again!
