I traveled to Alaska for three and a half years on business as the Alaska Permanent Fund and the city of Anchorage were my clients at the bank. I was thrilled with this assignment and had the opportunity to see Juneau, Anchorage and Fairbanks. In Alaska, I saw my first glacier (Mendenhall, in Juneau), drove along "the pipeline", watched a bald eagle soar, and experienced the longest days (19 hours of daylight) as can only be experienced at those latitudes. But, I was never able to get on the water around Alaska's shores which I still hope to do one day.
Alaska is a breathtaking state with incredible resources, and should be seen by everyone in "the lower forty-eight", at least once. Today's is a "guest post" of sorts as Peter and I are once again on the road. Cousins recently cruised up to Alaska, shared their photo album with us and agreed that we could share with you some of the beauty that is Alaska.
